Easter Weekend!!

Well Easter was amazing on this end! It started early Friday morning when we welcomed the newest edition to the Nelson Paint Horses Clan! We welcomed Troy into the world at 4:00 friday morning. He is by Missin Lena out of Docs Silver Done. After getting him all taken care of and blanketed I headed down to work to get Jax ready to show in Hurricane on Sunday! We got to hurricane and got everyone taken care of then we went to the hotel and got ready for saturday.
I woke up at 4:58 Saturday to get up and moving! My mom and I went and fed the horses and get ready. Unfortunately it was a small show and the Quarter horses showed early and the judges didn't really like either one of our quarter horse stallions. Finally, it was mine and Jax's turn. I have been working with him at the ranch getting set up and everything. He doesn't allow you to put a lip chain on him so I hoped that he would be a good boy being in the arena with all the mares and geldings running around him. The sad but good part about it was that we were the only paint stallion at the whole show! It was sad cause we didn't get any points, but the good part was that we got arena time and i got to show him and figure him out in an arena setting. He did great with only the chain under his chin! He also stood with all the horses running around and by him and never let out a peep! I was so proud of him!
Sunday was a good day and I got more pictures of Troy at 3 days old! Here they are! He is such a little sweetheart! Loves to be petted and touched!
